Start Here: If You’ve Been Overthinking, Stuck, or Trying to Figure Yourself Out

There’s a good chance you didn’t land here by accident.

Maybe you’ve been:

👉 overthinking things that feel like they shouldn’t be this hard
👉 replaying conversations after they happen
👉 trying to get clarity—but never quite landing on it
👉 feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break

And from the outside?

You’re functioning.

Maybe even doing well.

But internally—

it’s taking a lot more effort than it should.

It’s not that something is wrong. It just feels harder than it should.

What You’ll Find Here

Most of what I write about comes back to a few core patterns:

👉 Rumination — going over things again and again, trying to get it right

👉 Reassurance Seeking — looking for certainty, relief, or confirmation

👉 Avoidance — not doing the thing, or doing it in a safer, more controlled way

These patterns can show up as:

👉 anxiety
👉 OCD
👉 relationship doubt
👉 self-criticism
👉 or just a constant sense of “why is this so hard?”

And the important part:

These aren’t personality traits.

They’re patterns.

And patterns can change.

Maybe I just need to think about it a little more.

If You’re Not Sure Where to Start

Here are a few places most people begin:

👉 If you tend to overthink everything:

Start with rumination

👉 If you find yourself constantly checking, Googling, or asking for reassurance:

Start with reassurance seeking

👉 If you avoid things that feel uncomfortable (even subtly):

Start with avoidance patterns

👉 If social situations or speaking up feel harder than they should:

Start with fear of rejection and social anxiety

👉 If you’re wondering if this might actually be OCD:

Start with intrusive thoughts or compulsions

A Quick Note on OCD

A lot of people don’t realize they’re dealing with OCD.

Because it doesn’t always look like what you expect.

It can look like:

👉 overthinking
👉 doubt
👉 needing to feel “sure”
👉 mental checking
👉 replaying situations

Not just visible behaviors.

It doesn’t have to feel completely settled to move forward.

If This Is Affecting Your Life

You don’t have to figure this out on your own.

This is exactly the kind of work I do with clients:

👉 understanding the pattern
👉 interrupting the loop
👉 building a different response

In a focused, structured way.

If you’re ready for that, you can learn more about how therapy intensives work.

Final Thought

If you’re here, there’s a reason.

Not because something is “wrong” with you—

But because something you’ve been doing to cope…

is no longer working.

And that’s usually where things start to shift.

If you’re ready to start shifting these patterns in a more focused way, you can learn more about OCD and anxiety intensives here.
